At the Tokyo Game Show, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai announced that in just three weeks time, the PS3 Slim has sold a total of one million units worldwide. Fans have been asking for a price cut for some time now, and the sales certainly indicate it came at the right time.

Since its world wide release in early September, Sony has seen sales skyrocket, and for good reason. The extra motivation needed for the would be buyers is now there. The PS3 Slim has all the same features of its latter design, just less clunky and $100 cheaper.

Although Sony is thrilled with the jump in sales, Hirai warned that a shortage could be on the horizon if sales continue as they are now.
