Although Assassins Creed II was deemed a successful sequel by the gaming community, the markets opinion of it was unclear at the time. Today however, we have a clear picture of the market reception, and it has been warm.

Ubisoft announced that Assassins Creed II has made record breaking first week sales. According to estimates, the sequel has sold some 1.6 million units worldwide, which is a 32 percent increase in first week sales of the original.

In this gamer’s humble opinion, Assassins Creed II is a vast improvement over its predecessor. The mechanics are better, the story is more absorbing, and it is just an overall better experience. The positive feedback within the market is not that surprising, simply because - it is a good game!
