If you have been waiting for a racing game that will allow you to take out enemies with more than just a turtle shell, then Split/Second is your game! One of the most promising racing games we have seen in awhile, we are getting our first behind the scenes glimpse of it today.

Split/Second docks racing 15

The latest racing game to come out of Black Rock Studio; Split/Second will allow you to race against enemies in a reality TV style setting. Although your racing skills are essential to your success, it will not be the only asset at your disposal for getting ahead in a race. You will have the option to trigger strategic explosions along your race course to take out enemies and open up shortcuts.

There are a number of things about the game that I like. First off the graphics are gorgeous. The tracks in the game are pristine, and breathtaking in some instances when you are driving through various landscapes. Another aspect of the game that I like is that your ranking and laps are attached directly to your car. It is a genius idea when you think about it, because rather than glancing at the edge of your screen and risking a crash you can get all of that info directly beneath your car. Other than the question of how the frame rate will look on the bigger explosions, I am pretty much convinced that Split/Second will please many a racing fan.
