At long last Naughty Dog has released their much anticipated follow up to Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. A game that was known for lush environments, adventure, and unique story telling. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has all of the same elements, only better! You are probably wondering if Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is one of the best games this year? Try one of the best games in history!

Someone has a treasure fetish

You will be returning as Nathan Drake, who is on the verge of uncovering the mystery of Marco Polo's doomed voyage from the palace of Kublai Khan. His research leads him in the direction of the fabled Cintamani stone, which would be worth a fortune if discovered. Unfortunately Drake's enemies have discovered the existence of the stone as well, and are tracking it down. Drake must outrun his enemies in a global chase to find the stone first and make the score of a lifetime.

What I loved

Platforming - Was some of the best I have ever played. The obstacles you will be platforming are unique, interactive, and fluid. Nathan can climb buildings, mountain, and even lamp posts if need be. When platforming your map becomes interactive. Just when you think you will jump from one ledge to another one will fall out dropping you right into another area of the map. It is these instances that keep platforming fresh and dynamic.

Environments - Stunning, beautiful, and dynamic are just a few of the words I would use to describe the environments of Uncharted 2. You will often find yourself pausing during game play to just look out over them and their landscapes. You will travel to a number of scenic locations within the game. Jungles, cities, and frozen arctic landscapes are just a few environments you will traverse. The environments of Uncharted 2 are so detailed that they rival that of film.

The Story - One of the best aspects of the game is the story. It is an in depth journey into one of the great historical mysteries. It is a story that is reminiscent of the Indiana Jones films, and is completely absorbing. It is one of the few games that you are eager to watch the cut scenes.

Combat - Is a blast! You will be able to choose from a number of weapons as you progress through the game, some basic, and some high grade military. Your enemies are realistic, intelligent, and create a great challenge. During a firefight they will often flank you, and throw grenades to flush you out. There are also a number of action sequences where you will be playing rather than watching a cut scene. Half the time when you are playing said action sequence you will be asking your self "am I really playing this," simply because they are so fast paced and mind blowing. The controls are flawless in these portions of the game so you will not be frustrated.

What I hated

The first map - This is one of very few complaints I have about this game. The very first map of Uncharted 2 is a little frustrating. Trying to use your stealth here is a bit tricky, and finding platforming areas is a headache. It does not indicate the rest of your experience in the game (because it is flawless) but it is a bit frustrating

Uncharted 2 is the Bees Knees

A great deal of care went into the development of this game and it is expressed through the vibrant story telling, the gorgeous environments, and the flawless game play. Uncharted 2 is a game that is as absorbing as any big budget adventure film, and may possibly be the most enjoyable adventure game I have ever played. Uncharted 2 meets every expectation you could have for a game of this genre, and not only lives up to its standards but exceeds them! We give Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 5 out of 5 stars.

I'd like to see a comparison between this and the first one. I absolutely loved the original. I've only played 53% of the second one and am having fun but it's not sucking me in as much as the first one. Judging from the review scores, I'm in the minority.
