A complete list of Sony's new 3D releases

So far at this year's CES, one of the common themes is 3D technology. It seems almost every industry leader and contributor is fixated on it, and when the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show comes to a close it may prove to be this years dominant theme.



Sony is one of the companies that are on board with 3D technology, and in their press conference they announced a number of new electronics and devices that will feature it. Today they have released a complete list of all of their 3D releases, and we have it for you to drool over.

Electronics

  • 3D Bravia LCD TV - worldwide summer 2010
  • 3D Blue-ray player - worldwide summer 2010
  • 3D Home theater Blue-ray player - worldwide 2010
  • 3D VAIO PCs - 2010
  • 3D digital still cameras - 2010

Movie and Television

  • Sony established "Sony 3D Technology Center" in Culver City, California
  • First Sony 3D film for Blue-ray "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" - Summer 2010
  • Discovery, IMAX, and Sony to release first 3D network in U.S.
  • ESPN, and Sony to broadcast "X games" and "College Football" in 3D
  • Sony to work with Discovery, Direct TV, and ESPN to make their developing 3D broadcast compatible with Bravia LCD TVs

Games

  • All PS3s to get 3D update via firmware for 3D stereoscopic games - Summer 2010
  • PS3 Blue-ray 3D upgrades available through another firmware update - no date
