Twitter is reportedly locking out a number of users this morning due do to a phishing attack that has compromised their accounts. A number of notices have been sent to the users affected by the scam, urging them to change their passwords.

The news comes to us via blogger Andrew Girdwood, who received one of these notices and shared it on his blog. Although the notification itself was originally thought to be a phishing scam, thousands of users are now confirming the opposite.

It is being rumored that the source of the phishing attack was @THXc , who may have illegally accessed a number of accounts through NutshellMail. This can probably go without saying but we recommend you avoid this user like the plague, and don't click any links you are not sure of.
