Google's latest foray into social media, Google Buzz was unveiled at an event in Mountain View, California today. It will (as fans assumed) be part of Gmail, and will allow intergeneration of some of the top social media sites.



Google Buzz is by far Google's boldest attempt to tap into social media. Below we have outlined the features of Buzz.

• Share publicly or privately with only your friends
• Comments sent directly to your inbox
• Thumbnails for every post
• Integrates with Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, and Google Reader
• Updates in real time
• Recommends popular posts and drops unpopular ones
• Allows mobile integration and location tags
