IE6 support ending on YouTube

It seems that Microsoft's outdated browser, Internet Explorer 6 is finally making those last few swirls around the drain. Discovered on a YouTube help page, it appears that the Google site will no longer support the IE6 browser.

R.I.P. Internet Explorer 6From March 13 on, any individual using an outdated browser on YouTube will be greeted by a interstitial, urging them to upgrade to a more current browser. The interstitial reads "Support stops on March 13th. Stopped support essentially means that some future features on YouTube will be rolled out that won't work in older browsers."

YouTube is one of a number of Google sites who are ceasing IE6 support. Gmail, and Google Docs are just a few of the other sites that will no longer support outdated browsers. Hopefully the IE6 ban we are seeing from Google will help be the extra motivation needed to finally do away with the browser once and for all.
